Homestay Rooms offers a modest yet comfortable lodging option in the vibrant East End of London, situated at Sims House, 420 Commercial Rd. The brand maintains a respectable rating of 3.7, reflecting a generally positive guest experience with some nuanced feedback.
Guests appreciate the clean and cozy atmosphere, often describing the space as having a “home-like” feel. The rooms provide essential comforts, such as a fully equipped kitchen and convenient amenities including a washing machine, free Wi-Fi, and toiletries like wash gel and shampoo. These features cater well to travelers seeking practicality and independence during their stay.
Located within walking distance of iconic landmarks such as Tower Bridge and the picturesque St. Katharine's Docks, Homestay Rooms offers a safe and well-connected neighborhood. Tesco Express, only 700 meters away, adds ease for guests stocking up on essentials.
However, some shortcomings temper the overall experience. The absence of air conditioning, on-site parking, and other typical hotel amenities like a restaurant or fitness center may be limiting for certain travelers. Additionally, the internet speed has been reported as notably slow, and rooms facing the street are subject to traffic noise, which could impact comfort for light sleepers.
Despite this, the staff’s friendliness and communication stand out positively, contributing to a welcoming environment that complements the location’s cultural and recreational offerings. Visitors interested in exploring local Indian cuisine, historic churches like St. George In The East, or engaging in watersports at nearby Shadwell Basin will find the setting advantageous.
In essence, Homestay Rooms appeals primarily to guests who value functional accommodation with a neighborhood vibe over luxury hotel services. Its appeal lies in providing a genuine, lived-in experience with enough conveniences to support short to medium stays. For those prioritizing cost-effectiveness and proximity to East London’s attractions, this brand represents a practical choice, though it requires a willingness to embrace simplicity and adapt to minor inconveniences.

Clean, cosy, nice view, everything to feel like home.
The flat is nice and clean. The kitchen is fully equipped. Toilet is clean. There are wash gel and shampoo in a bathroom. Location is quite close to the Tower Bridge. It takes about 30 minutes walk along fabulous St. Katharine's Docks. Tesco express market is 700m from the place. The background is safe.
It's a decent enough place, but it's definitely more like airbnb. The apartment was quite clean, and it was very convenient to have the kitchen and the washing machine available on the premises. The internet is way too slow though, and if you get the room facing the road, you're stuck with traffic noise. I slept with calming youtube music on, otherwise it would have been impossible for me to fall asleep.
It's good for the price and for the location. I booked to go to Troxy for a concert. All was perfect. I suggest at all. Nice staff and good comunication.
